Position Overview
We are seeking a part-time year round detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to support our team with bookkeeping, tax, and general accounting support duties. This role is ideal for an accounting professional seeking flexible, part-time hours in a public accounting environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with firm accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Perform bookkeeping and general ledger maintenance for client accounts
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements
- Prepare journal entries and supporting workpapers
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Communicate with clients to request documentation and clarify information
- Assist senior accountants and partners with special projects
- Assist with tax support of individual and business tax returns
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or currently pursuing degree)
- 1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred (public accounting experience a plus)
- Familiarity with tax preparation and accounting software
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines, especially during tax season
- Professional communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with QuickBooks (Online and Desktop)
- Experience preparing individual (1040) and small business returns
